How to Change Your Microphone Sample Rate

Standard Sample Rates are 44.1 kHz & 48 kHz. Some audio interfaces & microphones are capable of much higher Sample Rates & can change OS settings when they are plugged into your computer without your knowledge. You can change the Sample Rate back to the standards, if needed, with these simple steps.

MacOS

  1. Click on the Magnifying glass icon in the top right, next to the clock
  2. Type in “Audio Midi Setup”
  3. Click on the Audio Midi Setup app
  4. Select your audio interface or microphone in the list on the left
  5. Click on the Format dropdown to expand it
  6. Select either 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz
  7. Close the Audio Midi Setup app
  8. Return to SquadCast
  9. Refresh the page

Windows

  1. Right Click on the Speaker icon in the bottom right, next to the clock
  2. Select Recording Devices
  3. Click on your audio interface or microphone in the window that opens
  4. Click on the Advanced tab
  5. Click on the Default Format dropdown to expand it
  6. Select either 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz
  7. Close the Recording Devices window
  8. Return to SquadCast
  9. Refresh the page
